Matthew Holt: "A fascinating conversation between George Beauregard, DO & Kimmie Ng, the leading oncologist in early onset colorectal cancer. Why are these cancers in younger people increasing so quickly? What can we do about it? What is connecting the environment, the immune system, mental health and cancer? What kind of early intervention can we advocate for? A fascinating conversation between two real leaders in this field."

A VBC Podcast discussion on early-onset cancer.
MONDAY, MARCH 17 I was honored to be a guest on NBC's Today Show during the 9AM hour. During the segment, I discussed my book and the importance of early cancer detection and treatment with Craig Melvin (who graciously wrote the foreword to the book and who interviewed my son, Patrick, on the show in March 2020). This appearance marked a significant opportunity to reach a broad audience and share our passion for defeating this terrible disease. Thank you to Craig and the team at NBC TODAY for offering me a nationwide platform to share my book writing story and resurface my son's inspiring story. SATURDAY, MARCH 29 I attended the 6th Dana-Farber Cancer Institute's Young-Onset Colorectal Cancer Center Patient and Family Forum 2025, held at the Fairmont Copley Plaza, in Boston. As in previous years, the day-long event offered a mix of patient stories, research updates, and clinical information about CRC and its various diagnostic and treatment modalities. Marisa Peter's keynote address about her experience with CRC was courageous and inspiring. (Check out her BE SEEN Foundation website: https://beseen.care) Dr. Elizabeth (Betsy) O'Donnell's research keynote address about the great work going on at Dana-Farber's Centers for Early Detection and Interception provides hope for the many people who will be afflicted by this potentially curable disease. https://www.dana-farber.org/cancer-care/treatment/early-detection-interception. Please check out DFCI's Beyond CRC Project, which will provide valuable data to expedite the search for answers and solutions to the rising incidence of young-onset cases.
I'm optimistic that a future forum will be one that celebrates major breakthroughs in early cancer detection and treatment...with thousands of lives saved by their work.
